How Community Technology will help onboard 100m+ users into web3
Building a great community needs better technology
Web3 = Community. No doubt. We see it with absolute clarity, and we’re excited for it. We are unapologetically obsessed with Community and want to listen, learn, and build together with our Community. It’s in our DNA and how we think about our company and it’s mission.
We think that great Communities deserve great technology, and much better than we have today.
As we scale our Community from tiny beginnings into what we believe it can become, we’ll need some pretty awesome technology to help bring our gaming experiences to life, and engage with as many people on their terms. There are hundreds of millions of gamers around the globe who could love being a part of an amazing community of builders, and influencing incredible web3 games.
We want to build a home, that’s safe and inclusive, that players will be able to influence and contribute to the gaming experience, share experiences with your friends and make new friends. We want technology that you can trust, that when you get a DM, you know it’s from a trusted source.
So, we decided to build our own Community Platform - our very own, tailor made solution for our Community.
OK, are we having a TL:DR kinda day? We got you. Here’s the headline news!
Our Tribes Community Platform will be a safe, fun, and *rewarding* place to hang out. Connect your Wallet, and we’ll welcome you to the future of gaming.
Wanna build with us - join residency programs to design characters, or weapons, or buildings, or write lore? Wanna write a quest, or a full back story for a character? Great. It’s a core feature.
Wanna vote on key decisions, wanna influence how we balance and think of our game economies, we have that too. Join Players Councils for beta testing, product feedback, talking to engineers, the works. Every aspect of engagement will count towards your Kudos score - a way for us to recognise and reward our community members!
Wanna write or record amazing content, and publish it, even on to our main community hub? Or build your own community, or invite only guild pages. Invite your friends in and have group chat functionality just for your musings. It’ll be there too.
In the future, we’ll even connect our Platform to our Games to give our Community the best possible experience and opportunity to influence our Tribesters World.
It is worth noting that incredible Communities are present in web2, no doubt. At the moment, the onboard journey in traditional gaming is through the game though. Users only get to experience incredible Communities at the end. Their journey is through playing the game, and if they’ve super enjoyed it, then maybe you check out the community, and if they stay then they get to perhaps experience and contribute to the community.
But there’s a much richer experience available, where people who love the game experience are there to welcome new players into an inclusive environment where they can consume great content, influence and contribute to a Community Led Gaming World. Community onboarding will become the norm.
Is it 100m users? Is it 10m? 400m+ Probably. Sure. I guess we can never be certain on the speed of adoption - but I am absolutely confident in the experience; and in the welcome our web2 gaming buddies will receive when they realise what they’re missing out on, and join our new world to experience Community Led Gaming.
As we think about how Web3 gaming and Community at scale will work, Platforms like the Tribes Community Platform, will allow players to easily join and engage in our Community as a part of their gaming experience. The onboard will be much easier, the environment friendlier, one that rewards and promotes positive engagement, and we believe it will make players want to stay, play, and contribute.
